Why do the numbers keep fluctuating when I'm not testing anything?
This is a normal function of the Auto Ranging feature of the 3340 DMM. It is simply picking up signals from the environment around it. When conducting a test, the meter will automatically zero out before giving a reading.

Does the 3340 Auto-Ranging DMM have a low battery indicator?
Yes. The 3340 Auto-Ranging DMM will display a battery symbol on the LCD when low.

Can I use any brand leads with this DMM?
Yes, you can use any brand leads as long as they fit the Innova DMM.

Does the 3340 Auto-Ranging DMM have reverse polarity protection?
Yes. The 3340 Auto-Ranging DMM has an automatic negative (-) polarity indication symbol.

Can the 3340 Automotive DMM measure DC current (AMPS)?
The 3340 Automotive DMM will measure 40mA and 400mA fused DC current (AMPS). The 3340 Automotive DMM will measure 15A unfused DC current (AMPS). * A waiting period of at least 15 minutes is necessary between every 15-second testing period.

Can the 3340 Automotive DMM measure RPM?
The 3340 Automotive DMM will measure RPM on Conventional, Distributorless Ignition Systems (DIS) ignition systems. The inductive pickup must be used with the 3340 Automotive DMM to read RPM. The range of RPM is 0 to 10,000 RPM.

How can I access the batteries?
You can access the batteries by removing the screw on the back of the 3340 holding the battery cover in place.

Does the 3340 Auto-Ranging DMM automatically shut off?
Yes. The 3340 Auto-Ranging DMM will shut off after being idle for 10 minutes.

Does the 3340 Auto-Ranging DMM have a fuse?
Yes. The 3340 comes with a 0.500A/250V – UL Listed Bussmann, GMA Type (Radio Shack GMA/270 Series: #270-1047) fuse.

What size battery does the 3340 Auto-Ranging DMM use?
The 3340 Auto-Ranging DMM uses two 1.5V AA batteries.
