  • Tryout a new USB cable

No Updates Available

If you recently bought the tool or updated the tool within the past few months, the app may tell you that there are no updates available. In this case, the tool is already updated to the latest version.

If you’d like to be notified whenever there’s a new firmware update available, submit your email here. You’ll be the first to be notified of available updates. And don’t worry - we won’t use your email for marketing purposes.

Please also keep in mind that we no longer offer software updates for our old tools. If your tool isn’t listed here, that means your tool is outdated. Only exception is the P series. But don’t worry! We have a tool upgrade program where you can get 30% off our flagship scanner (Innova 5610) if you own an old Innova scanner.

Other Notes

Innova does its best to provide firmware updates as often as possible, but the exact date is not guaranteed.

If you’d like to know whether your current tool is up-to-date, you can confirm by:

  • Going to this link here – it’ll tell you when the last update was + what the latest firmware number is. You can compare the firmware number when your tool boots up.
  • Downloading our updater tool – as mentioned in the article above, the app will tell you if there’s an update available or not.

FAQs

Q: I’m in the process of updating my tool, but I see “Update Error.” How do I fix this?

A: If you encounter this issue, please reconnect your tool and attempt the update again. This usually happens due to an internal error while updating the tool. It’s also good practice to make sure the USB cable is firmly connected to both PC and tool.

Q: My update is stuck at 5%. I waited 20 minutes and it’s not progressing?

A: This issue usually stems from the OBD tool updater being out of date. Please update the software app. To do this, first re-download the app. Then, you’ll be given three options – Modify, Replace, or Repair. Click Repair. This should update the app to its latest version, and you should now be able to update your tool properly.

Q: I followed all your instructions but am still unable to successfully download the OBD Tool Updater app. Could you help me?

A: If you followed all the instructions above and still encounter an error, please reboot your computer and temporarily disable any antivirus programs on your PC. If you’d like a person to guide you through, please feel free to contact our customer support team during operating hours.
